13th Colony Distilleries Celebrates 15th Anniversary with Special Cask Strength Bourbon Single Release

The 139.2 proof limited release will be distributed across the company’s distribution network.

Americus, Ga. - (February 29th, 2024)  The oldest operating distillery in Georgia since Prohibition, 13th Colony Distilleries is celebrating their anniversary in 2024 with the limited single release of a 15th Anniversary Cask Strength Bourbon Whiskey. Aged eight years and nine months, the special release of 13th Colony’s 15th Anniversary Cask Strength Bourbon will be available in March 2024 in select markets, including Georgia, Kentucky, Florida, Tennessee, Texas, and Arkansas, as well as online through Seelbach’s and Bourbon Outfitter.

To commemorate the distillery’s 15th anniversary, Master Distiller Arthur Graham selected 25 of his favorite 13th Colony barrels for this single release batch. The result is a one-of-kind expression of 139.2 proof straight bourbon whiskey.

The 15th Anniversary Cask Strength Bourbon pours a rich, deep mahogany. The nose presents a captivating aroma of baked fruits and caramelized sugar intertwining with hints of cherry liqueur, maple, and sweet corn. The palate is greeted by honey, cinnamon hard candy and raisin jam, followed by the warmth of spiced tea and the creaminess of popcorn butter. The finish is elegant and lingering, offering a lightly herbal character accompanied by smoked fruits, culminating in a medium warm embrace that leaves a lasting impression.

“Our family-owned and operated distillery was founded in 2009 on the simple idea of making exceptional spirits for the friends we know and the friends we don't know yet,” said Maxwell Darby, president of 13th Colony Distilleries. “Our 15th Anniversary Cask Strength Bourbon is dedicated to all of our friends - new and old. Thanks to our friends sharing 13th Colony with their friends, we are one of the fastest growing distilleries in Georgia; and, we’re just getting started.”

The 15th Anniversary Cask Strength Bourbon single release is another addition to 13th Colony’s successful limited edition series, including the immensely popular Double Oak Bourbon (this year’s release coming October 2024), Cask Strength Bourbon (coming May 2024) and Cask Strength Rye (coming August 2024). The bourbon community has embraced 13th Colony’s special releases, with accolades such as Double Platinum at the 2023 Ascot Awards and a thriving secondary market presence, with some bottles fetching close to $1,000.

The company held a sweepstakes in February to give members of the 13th Colony Insider Community a chance to purchase a bottle of the 15th Anniversary Cask Strength Bourbon signed by Master Distiller Arthur Graham. No other bottles of the 15th Anniversary Cask Strength Bourbon will be sold at the distillery. With a suggested retail price of $169.99, Thirteenth Colony’s 15th Anniversary Cask Strength Bourbon will be available in limited quantities; 3,330 total bottles were produced.
